I began to write poetry as a young person, but I always considered it a private affair to be shared with people close to me. I returned to writing after finding myself unable to continue on the series entitled "Plants and Planets". The studio practice shifted into a new series and words would play an important role in my most recent work. I have decided to devote a section to the website as it has become an integral part of my process.

For me writing is a study in listening. I try to clear my mind of thoughts and associations and listen for the words. I can be swept away by an idea, but I try to bring myself back to a relatively quiet state and wait for the next word to appear without forcing or imposing a notion. This process results in mostly short poems, revolving around a personal inner inquiry.
